Bouffier took up rallying in his native France in 1999. Despite showing early promise it wasn’t until 2007 that he became a known quantity outside of his homeland when he secured the first of two Polish crowns. A title-winning French championship campaign with Peugeot Sport followed in 2010 when he also tackled a handful of IRC events. He came close to winning Barum Czech Rally Zlín before he captured the Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy for a spirited performance on the FxPro Cyprus Rally in November 2010. He made more progress in 2011 when he won Rallye Monte-Carlo to great acclaim. A trio of podium finishes kept him in the IRC title fight until the penultimate round but he had to make day with sixth in the final reckoning. Armed with bags of experience and pace, Bouffier is likely to shine again in 2012 when appearances allow.
