Monte Carlo Rally to join the IRC In 2009

Michel Boeri, the President of the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), and Jacques Behar – the President of Intercontinental Rally Challenge promoter Eurosport Events – announced today at the ACM headquarters in Monaco that the Monte Carlo Rally will form part of the IRC in 2009.

Istanbul rally to open the 2008 IRC season

The Istanbul Rally will open the IRC season this year from April 4-6. Following the decision to drop the Safari Rally from the IRC calendar due to political difficulties in Kenya, the IRC organisers are delighted to welcome Turkey back as its replacement this year.

Belgium Rally Ypres, end leg 2 UPDATE

Following post-event scrutineering at the Belgium Ypres Rally, the stewards decided to disqualify two of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9s that were in the top eight of the IRC classification at the end of the rally..

Peugeot driver Luca Rossetti from Italy has taken what he described as one of the most important victories of his career. Rossetti was involved in a very close fight for the lead throughout the second day, but he kept calm under pressure to finish the event with a 18.6s second advantage.

Belgium Rally Ypres, end leg 1 UPDATE

The final stage of leg one last night, SS6 (Langemark) was cancelled this morning, due to anomalies with a yellow flag. A marshal was holding out a yellow flag at the beginning of the stage, in response to an incident on the previous running of the stage when several cars had gone off.

Belgium Rally Ypres, end leg 1

Ypres, Friday 22 June, 2007
The end of the opening leg of an action-packed Ypres Rally has welcomed local hero Pieter Tsjoen back to overnight parc ferme as provisional leader in his Abarth Grande Punto. The Belgian snatched the rally lead on the final stage of the day, which was run in darkness over narrow and slippery asphalt roads.

Rally of Turkey, end leg 2

Istanbul, Sunday 13 May, 2007
Peugeot driver Nicolas Vouilloz has won the Rally of Turkey, after taking the lead of the all-gravel event on the final afternoon. The former mountain bike champion got past the Abarth of Anton Alen on SS16, which lost time this afternoon with a broken brake pipe and then a puncture. The Finn eventually ended up fourth on his debut for Abarth.

Rally of Turkey, end leg 1

The first full day of the Rally of Turkey saw up-and-coming Finn Anton Alen take the rally lead for Abarth on his debut with the Grande Punto. The 23 year-old moved ahead when Peugeot 207 driver Nicolas Vouilloz had a left-front puncture just five kilometres from the end of SS6 this morning.
