Swedish ace Flodin is contesting seven rounds of this season’s all-action Intercontinental Rally Challenge, which enjoys extensive coverage on Eurosport, in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000 run by Petter Solberg Engineering.
Team owner Solberg, who competes for Ford in the World Rally Championship, is heading to Romania to offer his backing to Flodin, who one of the favourites to win the gravel event.
Solberg tweeted earlier today: “On my way to Sibiu Rally Romania to support PS Engineering and Patrik Flodin in the IRC rally.”
Flodin, meanwhile, will be keen on a few words of encouragement from his employer after he suffered heartache on the previous round of the IRC in San Marino.
“It was a big shame what happened and it would have been better to have arrived [in Romania] with a strong result in San Marino, that was the plan,” said Flodin.
