That’s according to Gilbert Roy, one of the key members of the team responsible for the dramatic pictures that will be transmitted from four stages of Barum Czech Rally Zlín.
Eurosport Events will produce four hours of live television from the event and will share the international signal with domestic free-to-air channel Czech TV for simultaneous broadcast. The live coverage will include the two Slusovice stages on Saturday 1 September and the two runs of Majak on Sunday 2 September.
“The pillars of our live coverage are the onboard camera pictures, the helicopter views, live interviews at the finish of the stage and live timing with spilt times to better understand what’s going on and to see who are the fastest teams from the first kilometres and all along the stage,” said Gilbert Roy, Director of Editorial and Programme Development for Eurosport Events.
“In Czech Republic the viewers will see a huge amount of enthusiastic spectators, especially in the first part of Slusovice on Saturday, and a tough competition with asphalt roads completely different from what they have seen in Corsica earlier in the year. As the cars can cut the corners there’s often a lot of gravel on the Tarmac and the grip is changing a lot, which makes the tyre choice pretty tricky.”
