Stratieva’s pursuit of success in the IRC 2WD Cup on Barum Czech Rally Zlín earlier this month ended after seven stages when a gearbox failure forced her retirement from the Tarmac event.
The Bulgarian hopes to bounce back on the visit to Ukraine when Yalta hosts the all-action IRC for a second time from 14-16 September.
“The problem in Zlín was bad luck, which was strange because all the parts were new,” said Stratieva. “We only made seven special stages and this was not enough for me because I feel hungry for driving. I will cross my fingers that the car will be okay and we make a good result in Yalta where I have wanted to come back to since last year.”
She continued: “It’s a very nice event but in the same moment it’s a hard rally. The stages are technical and some of them very slippery but I love roads like this. We will try to be very concentrated, not make mistakes and to push.”
