10 September 2012 18:56 Mikkelsen takes on alpine stars on Norwegian TV Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Andreas Mikkelsen is no stranger to appearing on TV – two of his four victories in the series were broadcast live on Eurosport – but he’s now a star of Norwegian TV following a recent appearance.

Mikkelsen, currently on top of the IRC standings in his ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia Super 2000, has been filming for the popular Hvem kan slå Aamodt og Kjus? Show (Who can beat Aamodt and Kjus?) in front of a live audience.

Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Lasse Kjus are world famous alpine athletes, who have together won several Olympic and world championship medals. Their show is described as “seriously physically and mentally challenging stuff”.

The TV show is very popular in Norway and many top Norwegian sportsmen have tried to beat Aamodt and Kjus. This time it was the turn of Mikkelsen, who teamed up with fellow Norwegian rally driver Mads Østberg. The result will be broadcast on TV-Norge soon.

“It was really great fun,” said Mikkelsen. “We had to do so many different tasks, which against the clock and in front of a live studio audience was not so easy.”

The all-action IRC resumes with the Prime Yalta Rally from 14-16 September.
